SCHEMATIC DESIGN

To kick off the design and planning phase, we will schedule a design interview with our top-notch design team to discuss your ideas and design style. Our team is highly experienced and will provide you with years of collective knowledge and options. Work with our design team in our carefully curated design center! We will guide you through materials, finishes, and color palette selections. This allows you to view options that we know are in stock and within your budget. The Blue Ribbon design team will draw the first concept plans for your new project! Once these are completed, we will present them to you in 3D using Chief Architect for review at the design presentation meeting, held at our design center. After that, selections are made and the scope of work is finalized.

STEP 2

Design Development

During the preconstruction and engineering phase of your project, you will be introduced to your Project Manager and the entire team of tradespeople during our trade contractor meeting at your home. The Blue Ribbon team will discuss each component of the project so the trades can provide an actual quote for their work.

STEP 3

Final Budgeting

This phase involves work by our estimator pulling together all of the individual components and soliciting pricing. When all of the quotes come back to us the estimator will create the final budget which the design and production team will review for accuracy. Once reviewed the Sales Associate will review the budget and possible options for your approval. The payment schedule will be updated in CoConstruct and final construction documents will be completed and ready for you to authorize.

STEP 1

PRE-CONSTRUCTION

Your Project Manager will schedule a meeting, review our “Preconstruction Checklist” and provide you with the guide “Preparing Your Home for Remodeling”. They will have one last review of the construction scope of work and payment schedules so expectations are clear from the start. Because we understand that renovations can be stressful, we recommend a thorough discussion of the project with your family.

During this phase we will apply for necessary building permits, and order any special order or long lead-time items. Just prior to beginning construction, we will prepare the job site by posting any necessary signage, installing dust and floor protection, and ordering framing materials. We will discuss how we can safely respect your family and pets, your preferred placement of a dumpster, port-a-john, sanitizing station, or storage for receipt of materials. We can even help set up a temporary kitchen if your kitchen is part of your renovation project! This phase is crucial to ensure that the construction process runs smoothly and efficiently.

STEP 2

Demo & Construction

Once these details are buttoned-up, the most exciting phase of the project begins! During this stage the new space will begin to take shape! Framing, mechanical installation, insulation, and drywall will be inspected and completed. This is typically the longest and most difficult phase because our Blue Ribbon team is meticulously bringing your project to life.

STEP 3

Finishing

This is the most exciting phase of the project for you! After completing any HVAC and electrical work, we will install the interior doors, trim, and flooring. Paint, hardware, cabinets, and fixtures will be added. Your space will transform right before your eyes. You will see your vision come together beautifully.

STEP 4

Final Walk-Through

Congratulations! You are in the last phase of your project. This is where we will make any final touch-ups and conduct a complete clean-up and walk-through. The Blue Ribbon team will ensure that your project is perfect before we hand it back over to you. You are then ready to live in your new space and enjoy all the amenities you’ve worked hard for!

  We had our attic space finished by Blue Ribbon last year.  While other construction companies I vetted communicated with me through salespeople, Blue Ribbon's owner John Sperath was my initial contact.  John quickly revealed an impressive knowledge of the construction process and laid out a detailed vision of the attic's transformation.  The most impressive part was how Blue Ribbon gave us a day-to-day schedule of how the construction would proceed with and they KEPT TO THAT SCHEDULE as well as to the budget. We are extremely pleased with how the attic turned out.  All of the subcontractors were very professional and respectful of our space and family.   I selected  Blue Ribbon after speaking with several contractors. The project included a primary suite addition, redesign of the front porch/entry/foyer, removal of existing breezeway and raised patio - replaced with a three-season Eze-Breeze screened porch and Trex deck, HVAC and ductwork replacement, plumbing and electrical updates to accommodate the suite addition.   This was a large project, encompassing the work of many subcontractors selected by Blue Ribbon.  I was impressed with their design,  hands on approach, ease of their online project tracking, selection and quality of subcontractors and the attention to the smallest detail. The owner, John Sperath, was involved from the very beginning, managing the design and approval processes, and continuously reviewed the project through completion, touching base with me to ensure satisfaction. The staff is pleasant, customer-focused and efficient.  The project manager, Ian Herd, was attentive to all phases of the work, continually checking in to listen for any concerns or changes.  His follow through to ensure subcontractors were completing their work timely was exceptional.  This experience with Blue Ribbon has been extraordinary, from the design stage through completion.   We had a great experience with Blue Ribbon, which we contracted to design and build a screened porch, using the foundation of our existing deck, and replace the decking, railing and stairs of the unscreened portion with Trex composite material. We were particularly impressed with the quality of work from their dedicated subcontractors -- the framing and finish carpentry were meticulous, as was the painting. We had a very good project manager and are thrilled with the results. We've had several people see the porch and remark that it looks like it has always been part of our house.
